Norfolk Reads & Writes Author is on Orange List

Xiaolu Guo is on the shortlist for the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction. Her fantastic new novel, A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers, is competing against work by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Kiran Desai, Rachel Cusk, Jane Harris and Anne Tyler. You can catch these shortlisted writers at 7.45pm on Tuesday 5 June 2007 at the Purcell Room at the South Bank Centre. The award ceremony happens the following day, Wednesday 6 June 2007. The all-female judging panel comprises: Muriel Gray (chair), Kathryn Hughes, Maya Jaggi, Marian Keyes and Kate Saunders. May the best woman win!
